Last night I was too tired to give anyone any energy. I had enough just to push through homework, supper and kids' stuff. I made it to 7 o'clock. Then Sophia's mom, two aunts and one year old cousin came over. They require so much emotional energy that it feels like they suck it right out of me. They are like perpetual five year olds and twelve year olds wrapped up into one person, times three. I just wanted to crawl into my bed, snuggle under the covers and bury myself in a book until I was so sleepy that I could close my eyes without thinking. But they needed me. And Sophia needs them. So on we go.
