It's Going to be Ok

Life has been looking up the past few days. I have an awesome friend who texted me on a Friday night just so we could meet for coffee. Someone who's known me forever and still chooses to hang out with me. Seriously, I don't know what I would do without our totally honest chats and laughter.

Next, we've been down a vehicle for a while now and then the passat decided to quit working. That means we were technically down to one vehicle with three drivers who all needed to go different places, including work, sports, school, practices, band, etc. How many people have a friend who can loan them a car indefinitely? We do! We're so thankful for the use of one of Rick's cars.

I haven't had a washer since Wednesday. It can't be fixed but they're hoping to put the computer from our washer into another one. Meanwhile, we're starting to get desperate for clean clothes. When I went into Perkins this afternoon to pick up Brittney (because she doesn't have a working car), I stopped to talk to some ladies, Wendy & Deb. One thing led to another and it turns out Deb has an extra washer we can use!

In the past two weeks, I have eliminated numerous flies, 12 wasps, 9 mice and 3 snakes from our house! On a good note, I haven't had any critter issues for three days straight so I think the problem has finally been resolved.

The other day when I tore into the dining room wall in the really old part of our house, stuff started pouring out like crazy; running out like sand. I filled a garbage can and two garbage bags with the stuff just from one part of the wall. Later, I googled it and panicked a bit when I thought it was asbestos. I stopped taking it out of the wall, cleaned up my mess and took a nap to forget about it for a while. I talked to my dad about it this morning and it turns out that it's not asbestos. It's vermiculite. It's a mineral that was used as insulation and isn't harmful. So I don't need to evacuate our house and call a contractor.

I left a message with a couple of therapists about the situation with Zeke at school. Anthony's therapist returned my call almost immediately and not only gave me some wise advise but also provide me with some logical steps of how to proceed. That was all great but what meant the most to me was that she told me everything was going to be ok. I don't care how old I get, sometimes I just need someone else to believe that and tell me so. It was the most calming thing I heard all week. :-)

So if no one has told you lately, it's going to be ok!
