I've been very intentional with Sophia to let her know that I accept and love her no matter what her behaviors and that I can handle her strong emotions. I wasn't sure whether to be upset or laugh when she parroted back some of my words to me.
I was getting frustrated with her because I'd had to ask her repeatedly to put on her coat and boots and get ready for preschool. She just kept messing around and we were going to be late if we didn't leave soon so I finally said, "SOPHIA! PUT ON YOUR COAT NOW!"
She looked up at me with her adorable little eyes and said, "It's ok mom. I still love you even when you're crabby."
