I can't believe I have a kid who is a cheerleader. Brittney got me a shirt that says "Cheer Mom". I'm the least likely to be running around in a shirt like that! I felt a little lucky that it wasn't here in time for me to wear it to the last meet in Watertown!
I do have to admit that it's kind of fun to watch. Last year when Brittney started, I was expecting more of the old-school cheerleading. Like pompoms standing in a line trying to excite the crowd. But competition cheer isn't anything like that. They do a lot of stunting and tumbling (gymnastics). Brittney is what's known as a flier. That means that she's one of the girls that they throw up in the air. Makes a mom a little nervous, but I guess that's just part of being a mom. I know she'd love to have you come and watch but if not, I'll try to post a video at some point. If I can figure out how!
